In learning about the purpose behind AD LDS, I am posed with several scenarios where you would want to use LDS over extending the AD DS schema. I'm not sure I fully understand the differences though. It was casually mentioned that installing Exchange would be preferable in AD DS over AD LDS, but it doesn't really elaborate as to why this is the case.
So can anybody here give a more concrete example of why extending the AD DS schema would be preferred over using AD LDS?
